EX-1 to MacPro – Ustream/Wirecast
I’d like to use my EX-1 to stream a live event. Through Ustream, if possible. Or Wirecast, if I need to use that software too.
I’ve searched through some of the past posts on this subject but I don’t see any specific hook-up directions.
When I attach my camera through the HDV iLink via firewire, my Mac Pro see’s it and it is listed in the hardware info under the firewire bus.
But the video does not appear in Ustream.
When I hook it up via the USB connection, when I hit enable it shows “USB Connecting” on the EX-1 viewfinder. But then that never leaves the viewfinder.
Can anyone offer any specific step by step instructions on how to connect the EX-1 to the MacPro for use in Ustream and/or Wirecast?
What cables to connect to what connections?
What software to use?
And how to get the camera to be recognized in that software.Or are there any tutorials or instruction manuals that show this?
I’ve run the Wirecast Tutorial, but it doesn’t show how to connect the camera.
Any help would be appreciated.

USB is only for data transfer.
Ustream’s own interface does not accept HDV.
Producer Pro with HDV plugin (which is OEM developed by Telestream) or Wirecast with HDV plugin will work. They both have easy setups for Ustream.
I use Matrox MXO2-LE HD-SDI in from EX-1 to Wirecast to stream to Ustream.
