  • EX 1 Timecode Resets When Power Shuts Off

Posted by Ashley James on July 13, 2009 at 1:12 am

I’m a new EX1 user. When I start up my camera after a shutdown, both just turning the camera off and removing the battery the timecode goes back to zero (00:00:00:00) instead of continuing sequential numbers where I left off. I’ve tried both regen and preset with record review button. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks ahead of time

Sounds like the Lithium backup battery might be bad. Check page 119 in the manual.

Went to the page you suggested. I see no warnings in viewfinder as indicated in the manual. All other functions working. Camera says it has 159 hours on it. Any other suggestions?

    Hi Ashley-

When you turn the camera off, are you removing the cards or leaving them in? (I believe) in some settings, the timecode will reset if you remove the cards. Does it reset after reviewing a clip or just when powering down and back up again? Or both?

Thanks to all. Seemed to be an issue with the lithium battery seating properly. I think Ive got it now.
