    Hey everyone,

I’m shooting a music video and am trying to go for the effect used in this weezer music video with the slow motion:

I’m using the EX-1 and shooting on the 720p setting at 24fps. If I was to overcrank to 60fps for some slow motion, does anyone know what percentage I would need to speed it up in FCP to get this effect? I know it’s simple math but I can’t get it to work for the life of me.

    Thank you,

    Kirk

Keep in mind that you’re not limited to shooting at 60 fps with the EX. Since you’re shooting 24p why not overcrank @ 48 fps for a half speed slow-mo effect. This way you can drop your overcranked clips into your 24p timeline in FCP and it will play at 50% speed without any extra timing adjustments.

To make a 24 fps play at 60 fps, you need to slow it to 40% in FC.
To make a60 fps play at 24, you need to speed it up by 250%.
However, as Don says, the slow in the EX-1 rocks.
