evga gtx 680 4gb, have someone test it in an early mac?
I saw on ebay that someone is selling a version of the gtx 680 flashed for mac with 4gbs.. since the official web site shows 2gb model only, my question is it worth it? to handle 4k footage.. is Davinci actually detecting those 4gbs?. Forums point out Adobe can’t see it. just 2gbs. so Anyone has try it?
in other words… I feel more confidence buying the official mac version from nvidia, but it is tenting to boost the the machine with 4gbs to handle 2k and 4 k proyects with more nodes.

More GPU ram is better. The new config guide will suggest to get 4GB GPUs when u can. 2GB is ok.

how is more ram better, in what type of scenarios, only when working in 4K, how about just HD
when does the 4GB ram work better than the 2GB

V10 offers temporal processing and OpenFx plugins and both are GPU ram intensive. We demoed at NAB iMacs with 2GB ram so that works for HD material but at some stage you will use all your GPU memory so if you can affords more, go for 4GB GPU ram.

Your last post in this thread addresses another question I posted recently on the Basics&Config board.
Would you recommend this 4GB version for a Mac Pro even if the PCIe link speed is only running at 1.0 (2.5 GT/s)?
Or would the Mac Edition of the 680, with only 2GB VRAM, running at PCIe 2.0 speeds (5.0 GT/s, as I understand) be better in this case?
Seems like this is an issue for all Mac Pro 3,1 owners running 10.8.3, as the PC versions of the GTX 6xx series will currently only run at PCIe 1.0 speeds in the Mac Pro 3,1.
