Event Panel Date Sort Question
I am a relative newbie using FCPX for personal videos. When I import videos the event library sorts them by date taken, which is a good thing. But if I add music or some other type of file to the project as I am working on it, FCPX automatically adds them to the event and the date is changed to an earlier time (for example, the date the song was made). How can I avoid this and just have FCPX sort the events by the date the video was taken?

In 10.0.3 there is a function to adjust the date/time stamp of a clip.

Thanks, Tom. I just changed the date of a song to match the date of the video clips, but it still showed the event listed under the original year that the song was recorded.

That’s strange. How did you change the date? When I changed the content created date for an Apple loop that was made it 2007 and changed it to 2011, it moved to the correct location in the event browser.

I chose the older song in my event library. Then I went to Modify/Adjust Content Created Date and Time. Then I changed the date to the same date as my video files. I put a click in change file creation dates as well. Did I do it correctly?
