I’m working on a proposal for a large corporate client who wishes to stage a corporate meeting at a local movie theatre. They’ll want video playback, walk-in and walk out music, PowerPoint, lighting, etc. I’ve done many shows in hotel ballrooms, but never in a theatre. Anyone ever done one of these? Would you use any of the theatre’s projection systems? Anything I should look out for, ask about, etc? I have a meeting with the client and theatre on Monday. Thanks for your help.

Most theaters, dependend on its size are well equipped with right lighting. Screens are mostly used for backgrounds (projection codalights or whatever)
Big advantage in most thearters ist enough backstageroom (rearprojection) existing trussing (ask for available loading).
Most disadvantage is, if you need a setup like FOH, cameras or stagedirecting inside the auditorium, cabelling and camerasetup can be a pain.
