Essential Graphics Unuseable – And Also Laggy Playback
Ok, I will start off by saying I have a bang average PC.
Spec is:
Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus Case 1
Intel Core i5 4690K Haswell Refresh Processor 3.50 GHz (Overclocked to up to 4.3GHz) 1
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler 1
Generic thermal paste 1
Asus Z97-K Motherboard – Haswell CPU only 1
16 GB PC3-10666 1333MHz DDR3 Memory (4 x 4GB sticks) 1
Chillblast NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Graphics Card 1
1000GB 7200RPM Hard Disk – 6Gbps 1
24x SATA DVD+/-RW Drive 1
Corsair Ultra Low Noise 600W PSU 1
Onboard High Definition Audio 1
Windows 10I know I can expect issues with 4K however, what I did not expect is that I can ‘t even play Essential Graphics when it is the only thing on the timeline without being choppy, laggy and just awful.
I generally use my GoPro and have done videos on CS6 with no issue, but now, even that aswell as CC2018 are unuseable.
I can do proxies and they are fine, but really do i need them with a 720p 100FPS file less than 50mb!!!!
I get same issue with Gopro Quik and also have tried Vegas trial.
As i say, CS6 used to be fine, but now is rubbish.
I am using Mercury Playback and have tried software only also.What can I try please otherwise buying the gopro 6 will be a waste of time ☹

16 gigs of RAM just isn’t enough for 4k. You need 32 gigs as a minimum.

And the video card is underpowered…4GB RAM on that at least, if not more. And one that leverages CUDA or Open CL.

Sorry, you’re missing my point.
I’m not using 4k,i was just saying I’m not expecting to be able to use 4k with my system.
In struggling with 720 @ 100fps and even just one clip from essentials graphics on its own.
Does that make sense?

I installed Premiere onto my work pc for a test and 1080p 50FPS play flawlessly in full detail without the need for proxies.
The spec is alot worse than mine:
Core i5 -3470 3.2GHz
4GB Ram
Windows 7 64 Bit
Nvidia GeForce GT620 1GBIt really is a bog standard pc as you can see
Now, apart from the spec, one thing that stands out is I use Windows 10, this pc is Win 7, is there something weird that I need to sort out with windows 10?

I think I know the answer to one of my issues. It seems that non Pro Tune plays fine, its the Pro Tune ones that kill Premiere for me. So it looks like Proxies for Pro tune jobs.
HOWEVER, how much of a pc do i need just to play a template from Essential Graphics?
I can start a sequence, add the video and then add the Graphic template. I then delete the video so I am only left with the graphic. Change sequence settings to 23 fps as I think that is what it uses.
I hit play, and bang, unuseable even when the playback is set for 1/8th !! Yes 1/8th!!!!That is incredibly bad that my modest PC can not even play these files.
Any help please?
