  eSATA array with port multiplier

  I am looking to get into an 5 bay external RAID system (I currently use 2 internal drives with software RAID, and Lacie 2BIG with esata).

  I have seen on this forum the mention of products from USB-Ware. I looked on the site and found some very reasonable prices, but do not know exactly what I will need. The specs seem so similar from one to the next, I need a little guidance.

  I currently have a Mac Pro (first gen 1,1 2×2.66) with the Newer Technology double SATA connection directly to the motherboard. Since I have this connection, am I able to utilize them if the array enclosure has some type of hardware multiplier in it? Does such a thing exist?
