We just wrapped a shoot with the c300. I plugged the CompactFlash card into the computer and copied the Contents folder onto my hard drive to back up. I then tried to import using Log & Transfer. A majority of the clips are there but I am missing a few of the interviews which ran over 5 minutes.

Upon further investigation I found that on my copy of the CompactFlash card and the original card the clips that I were missing did not contain an .sif file in their folder. They contained a .mxf and .xml file though.

I have used the mxf to extract as high quality video as I can but I was wondering if this was user error, camera error or CompactFlash error?

It could be any number of errors. This is why I backup my cards using Shotput Pro by Imagineproducts.com. It copies everything, and VERIFIES that everything was copied. Whoever offloaded might have thought, “Ehh, those files aren’t needed” and didn’t copy them. Or somehow they were missed when the copy process happened. This does happen.
