  • Error rendering split clips with the same file name.

This has occurred twice recently. A spot uses different portions of the same clip in the edit. It conforms correctly and during color it plays back fine and shows up in both the conform and master timeline. Then when I “render all” it skips one of the clips. Seeming as if it will only allow one render per file name.

Both cases were ALEXA sources and both were added to the media pool with 48 frame handles by the split and add function in the browser. One spot used a cmx 3600 Avid generated edl and one a FCP xml.

I did not use the assist with reel name function in the config and only used timecode as identifier.

The fix was simply to identify the clip on the render page and render it separately. I tend to render all when ready and want to ask why all doesn’t mean all lately.

    Thanks guys.
