  error rendering color

  whenever I put the Matte:color effect on the time line, crop it, and add motion to it to make it look like a white line moving into frame, over another graphic, it plays fine until I render it. As soon as I render it, the color effect completely disappears. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on?
