I’ve been trying to export my film for the last couple days in order to burn it to a DVD for submission to a festival. It’s a huge project with probably 150 hours of footage, and the sequence I’m trying to export is 40 minutes long. Every time I try to export I get this error message: “error: out of memory”. Actually, a couple times I got “codec error”. I also have constant crashes of Final Cut. I downloaded the trial version of FCP Maintenance pack, and it told me that the cause of (most) of my crashes is that I’m editing in an MPEG based format (HDV). I guess I should have captured (or imported?) my footage in ProRes? Should I (and can I) convert my project to ProRes now? Any other ideas?

    Thanks,
    Zach

Also, I have a huge number of sequences. Would moving or deleting a bunch of them help?

    Thanks,
    Zach
