    BAD PSD file!

Someone above said it was a bad PSD file. I got this error when I was working on a graphic sequence. I had just imported a PSD file and got this message.

I had created the file by taking a completed PSD file and cropping it, then re-saving it.

I went back an added a empty layer under the layer that was there. Then hit COMMAND E.

When I saved this file and imported into FCP I had no problems. I think it was because I had cropped the other completed ALPHA PSD. Once I prepared the file the proper way, it worked.

This seems to be the problem I had. Hope this helps other people.

Boy, I am baffled. Getting an error

“Operation not allowed” followed by “out of memory.”

After rebooting, trashing preferences, repairing permissions and checking all my hard discs, I get into FCP 6.06 and can’t seem to open up one of the sequences. I think it was the sequence I was working with when this thing died. It is of note that something in the header of the drive I was saving my project to was found in Disc utility and repaired. But now the problem persists. I also had saved a file that is not to be found, I save in numbered increments.

I’ll keep trouble shooting this. Glad for the forums to read of possible solutions. I’ve got to be honing in somewhere on the right way here shortly.

My issue, it would seem, has something to do with nested sequences. After copying all my bins to a “new project” and saving it, I opened all sequences—accept 3 that were denied, giving me “operation not allowed” error. So, I deleted those and I’m remaking them. The problem arose anew when I added a nested sequence to a timeline and began working with it, dropping a cross dissolve on that nested sequence popped up the error anew with the red screen in the canvas.

Hmmm, I best stay clear of that nested sequence thing. Somethin’ just ain’t right about it.

I’m coming into this blog quite late, but nevertheless with the same “out of memory” issues. How do you trash the prefs?
