I found this post with no reply. I am having the same problem right now. I lost about 6 hours of work twice! Any advice would be nice.

    ERROR MESSAGE:internal structure Damage

Anyone care to shead some light on the following error message: After Effects Can’t continue:internal structure is damaged. I’ve seen it 2 times in the last couple of months and never before…Once you see it, that’s it for the file. You have to go back to a previously saved version of the project or start over again. Its really quite madening. Running AE 6.5 on a G5 Dualie 2G. Doesn’t seem to be related to any particular plug in.

    Trent,

As of two hours ago, I’m in this boat, too. For the first time ever.
AE 6.5 Pro, Dual 2.4g Xeon, 2 gig ram, 1.5 tb video storage.

    My crash was preceded by:
“Bad Tracked Memory ID 23::34” and
“Bad Tracked Memory ID 23::33”, then
“AE can’t continue. Internal Structure Damaged. 3::2”
“AE can’t continue. Internal Structure Damaged. 3::87”
“AE can’t continue. Internal Structure Damaged. 3::87”

If I could find a list of error messages and their meanings, that’d be swell.

I’m off to try a diff tool on copies of the earlier versions of this project file (my “C” version of this project will load; my “D” and “E” versions will not, which is weird, because I had to be able to open and add to the “D” version to get to the save point for version “E”, so it’s something in common with them both, yet something which has happened after version “D” was saved). Maybe some insight there.

Will modifying a .psd or .png file referenced in an AE project (or used in a pre-comp) cause this?

    Groping at straws here…

    Thanks in advance!
