  • Error message with Displacement Map

    Hi All,
When I apply a displacement map I get the following error message: “This layered Photoshop file was not saved with a composite image” I made sure Maximize Compatibility is turned on always and did a save as and overwrote the file and tried again. Same watermark error message. I also did a save as and gave the file a new name. Same thing! I’m stumped on this one and can’t find enough info on the web to fix it. I’m using CS4 and Windows.
Thanks to anyone who can provide a solution!

    Hi Jim,

To the best of my knowledge, the Displacement Map must be flattened. The image you’re applying the displacement map to does not have to be flattened but I’m pretty sure the map itself must be. If your map is not flattened, do that and try again.
