    Error message when opening MC 6.5

    Hi,

    I just recently registered a student edition of media composer 6.5 and when I try to open the software, while it’s loading, the message “Error # -5000 while verifying your authorization.” appears, preventing me from opening the software. I’m not sure how to approach fixing this error message to actually open up the software. Does anyone know why this error may be showing up? What should I do to bypass this message?

    The -5000 error is an OS-level permissions error. This is actually one of the few cases where repairing disk permissions with Disk Utility may actually solve the problem.

    If repairing disk permissions does not solve the issue, try launching the software with a different user account that has administrator privileges. This will allow you to determine if it is a system-wide error or unique to a particular user account.
