    Hi Neil,
I’ve gotten a message similar to this. Have you been using Sapphire? We’ve noticed that when Sapphire plug ins crash they occasionally corrupt the file. I think when the crash occurs, you’re given a chance to save the file, but when you do, it’s not saved correctly and thus the missing data in file. This makes this version useless. In general you should be saving multiple versions of your project, and backups of those projects as well, so that when you do get a crash like this, you only lose the work since your last backup. Unfortunatley there’s not much you can do when this happens. We crashed using sapphire (it may be unrelated to sapphire, but our crashes seem to be with this package) this week, and lost about 3 hours of work.

    Sorry.

    HI Mike

No, not using sapphire, but i have used their demo software in the past which has done lots of odd things to my machine.

FYI if you’re using zaxwerks plug ins – i found out that if your machine crashes and gives you a chance to save, zaxwerks can’t save it’s info properly and you’ll never be able to reopen that project from that save on. maybe this applies to other plug ins as well.

    thanks for your response,

    Neil

    Hey Gary,
The Sapphire plug ins are great. We have contacted tech support, and the have helped us on several occasions. We have just noticed that at times we get crashes, and they seem to be related to sapphire.

I got the the ‘missing data in file’ error as well, using this plug-in. I was offered to save under a different name. Will the subsequent file be damaged?
