  • Error Message “Image Buffer”

Posted by Terry Hahin on April 7, 2005 at 5:35 pm

Hello. I worked myself into a bad corner by setting up an AE project all based around a 10,000 x 6,500 pixel photoshop file. It has worked slow but decent enough while working. But now that I want to Render a 720 x 480 file, the Error message “could not make a 13000 x 6500 image buffer” comes up after rendering out about six or seven frames.

The error message comes up once in a while when working, and essentialy crashes after effects. But it comes up EVERY TIME I try to render a 720 x 480, but not when I render a half or quarter res version.

    Any thought anyone?

    Thanks, Terry

Terry I almost posted the same question yesterday. For me it turned out that when our sever crashed I lost some of my prefs (our user account live on the server). Turned out my disk cache was no longer turned out and my overflow volumes not set (this was probably a non-issue as my project drive is a 500gb RAID). Once I turned the Disk Cache back on, it rendered fine.

    Hope this helps.

Search the COW for “secret”. It’s a prefs setting that might help your renders.
