October 26, 2005 at 9:16 pmHi Don. Just got back in the office. Tried that but no go. I did find other people who had this problem and they traced it back to a problem with Quicktime 7. They suggested going back to QT 6.5.2 which apparently works better with OS X 10.3.9
I’ll let you know what happens if you’re interested.

October 27, 2005 at 12:01 amYes, I’m interested. I wasn’t aware that you were using QT7. That is only supposed to work properly with Tiger. Since you’re still using Panther I’d strongly suggest you go back to QT6.5.2. There’s a post somewhere on here about a direct link to software at the Apple site allowing you to go back to QT6 from 7. It’ll de-install 7 and re-install 6. I’ll try and find it for you.
Here it is:

And here’s a link to the thread about going back to QT6.5.2 from QT7.0.1

November 2, 2005 at 9:38 pmHi Don. After many stressful days (with many interuptions) I fixed this problem. You were corrrect about QT 7. I now have QT 6.5.2, OS X 10.3.9, FCP HD (4.5) along with my Cinewave card and it digitizes great. Now, after editing for only a short time, my screen keeps freezing. I’ve trashed the prefeneces many times to no avail. Yet another adventure lies ahead as I figure this one out. Thanks for taking the time to read and respond. I really appreciate it. If you ever want to contact me directly, i can be reached at: nowens@baseballhalloffame.org
