error in Sonic EDVD4
This is a little OT, but I think many people use EDVD with Encore.
I just downloaded the trial version of Sonic (well Roxio now…) EDVD 4.0
I get through the wizard fine (picking the TS directory, picking window size, and the interactual splash screen).
When the actual program opens I get an “error parsing automatically-generated video XML description file”I am authoring the disk in Encore.
Any idea’s?Thanks

Has Sonic (Roxio) got a forum for eDVD 4?
Encore-generated VIDEO_TS folders have been tested in the past by Sonic, so I doubt the issue lies with Encore.

I willl look around…see if they do have a forum.
I thought it might be an issue with the new (2.0) Encore.

you need to get InterActual player playback working on your computer before eDVD can parse your video_ts. most likely you have a decoder conflict – multiple DVD decoders on your system

hmm, and I though it might be the opposite, and installed another one!
Any idea how to find what might be conflicting?Steve

Contact InterActual Support and they will walk you through it. support.interactual.com. There is a phone number in there somewhere and that’s probably the easiest way to get to the bottom of it.
BTW – the most compatible are PowerDVD, WinDVD (beyond 4) and CinePlayer. If you strip down to just one of those and then reinstall eDVD (may not be necessary to do that) I bet it will work.
Conflicting programs can include Nero decoder, Divx, certain DVD ripping software
