    I have a DVCPRO HD tape that won’t rewind, giving me an E-57 Error on the deck. Does anyone know if there’s a way to manually rewind the tape just enough so the deck can get some timecode in order to operate?

    If the camera is available try rewinding there. Opening the lid
    should be a last resort since there is always a chance of damaging the tape. If you have to go that route I suggest you
    try it on either a blank or old tape that you wont have to worry about damaging..
