    Hi there
I have my media (DVCProHD) on a G-Speed
I am trying to re-compress using media manager to go to RT-Offline for editing on my laptop.
(I know i could just copy my (1.7 TB of media onto another drive but I dont have a
spare one of that size at the moment and would prefer not to buy one if poss)

i have tried renaming my clips and related file names so that they are shorter but
i am still getting this problem.

Anyone got any hot shot ideas?
    I have trashed prefs.
    I am on a G5, OSX 10.4.11, 8.5GB RAM, FCP 6.04, QT7.5
If i cant get it to work i’ll buy yet another g-raid but thought i’d give it a go this way first.

    All the best chaps.

    Toodle pip.

I am getting the same problem but with a different set-up. I think my problem might be down to trying to consolidate(Avid boy at heart) onto a windows drive??? I am not sure what happens when you try to copy a mac file bigger than 2GB to a windows drive??

When copying a project in FCP 6 from one drive to another using media manager I got an error message 13 ? Anyone know what that means?.

Err… no one replied to me & i never did find out what caused it. Sometimes it helped to rename the file i was trying to media manage and give it another go… Attack it in small chunks if that fails…

    Good luck!

I was having this problem while trying to move a bunch of files with media manager to a windows based server.

The files I wanted to copy had long’ish file names, I went into the capture scratch and re-named them something shorter…media manager copied everything over without any issues after that.

(Remember to go back into FCP and re-connect your media after renaming)
