    Error – 30870 – M100 won’t launch – HELP!

    I’m getting this error message: “Could not start the application because an error of type – 30870 occurred” and Media 100 now won’t launch.

    I’m using 8.2.3a which I installed on Monday and have been using with no problems – until this afternoon! I have also been experimenting with trial versions of PAL to NTSC converters like DVFilm’s Alladin which I have now trashed.

    I’ve rebuilt the startup disc with Diskwarrior, re-installed 8.2 (this won’t launch either) re-isntalled 8.2.3a but nothing’s working. I’ve also tested the M100 hardware which passed all the tests. Other apps like AFX work fine. I’m out of ideas, any help gratefully received…

    OS is 10.4.6 on G4 1.25 DP

    Have you deleted the Media 100 preferences (in YourHomeFolder->Library->Preferences)? If this does not fix your problem you should look into your HardDrive->Library->QuickTime folder to see if there

    Make sure you have a printer set up.

    I did delete some prefs but not all. I’ll try that next. I can run M100 from an external FW boot frive that is a copy of my startup drive from a couple of weeks ago.

    Deleted all the prefs including the folder and low and behold M100 started. I guess it’s the first thing to try!
