I am getting ready to buy a laptop for CS4 Production Premium. I can’t get a straight answer on which laptop to buy. I don’t want a mac I know they are great. But they are expensive. I have one company telling me not to get a hard drive with 7200rpm on a laptop? I’ve got one company trying to sell me a $2500 laptop. For that price I might as well buy a Mac. Wanting to spend between 1200 and 1500. Can anyone lead me in the right direction with real knowledge.

If you want a laptop capable of editing HD without losing your hair in the process, you’ll probably need to spend at least $2000.00.
But then there are deals that may not have been there last time I looked a few months ago.
Yes, you’ll need a 7200 RPM HD, in fact probably at least 2, plus an external firewire or SATA. (and that’s also where you will take a hit with the cost), but I’m guessing the reason you are buying a laptop is because you are traveling.
