Hi, I have an Epson V600 scanner connected to my iMac 10.6.8, on which I also have Photoshop CS2 installed. I’m finding that when I scan a photo, then open it in CS2, after a couple of clicks CS2 crashes. I’ve read elsewhere that there is a conflict with Epson drivers, but no help on overcoming this. Maybe somebody here has the answer? Thanks.

    Hi Jimm

I read reports of instability on Windows but not Mac. However you’re OS version is very old (I’m stuck at that one too, as Final Cut Pro 7 won’t let me upgrade). However my main computer is Windows 10 and both my Epsons work fine.

Also you’re using CS2 which is very old itself, 15 years.

It’s highly likely the scanner drivers are written for newer versions of your OS and Photoshop. You can test this by using VueScan, which has drivers for most printers/scanners.

    Here’s yours

It puts a watermark on the scans until you buy the software, but good way to test my theory.

    Hi, Bret,

Thanks for that info. It looks like I’ll have to think about using my little Win 10 laptop for scans. I have hundreds of old photos to do. Now all I’ve got to do is find the installation CD with the Windows drivers on it.

    Thanks again. Cheers.
