EPS files into FCP keeping quality loss to a minimum
Ok so I have a logo that is an EPS file and im animating it in AE then I bring the animations in to FCP. But I need a transparent logo also to use as a bug in the corner. I can and did convert in photoshop to a PNG and it works well this what I have done for a long time. But this project requires a very high quality logo and the PNG just wont cut it. I cant get the eps in FCP so how can i export or convert the eps into a file FCP can use without losing all my ridge detail and things on the logo. Thanks for any help in advance….

Hi Toni,
Fc do not support EPS. If you are having problems with your PNG, you should look somewhere else because PNG keeps all the quality of the EPS.

That is 99.9% incorrect.
PNGs are bitmap files and EPS are vector. You may be able to get a good PNG out of an EPS, but it will be a conversion. You need to understand your graphic files before asserting such incorrect info.
I would recommend converting the EPS to Photoshop layers at a very high resolution (600 – 1200dpi) and importing those [layers] into FCP. FCP takes advantage of the additional resolution when zooming in and out and stuff. For example, I scanned a business card at 1200dpi, and did a motion animation that zoomed in on one letter, then panned across the words… the texture of the paper showed at that zoom and everything was crystal clear — unlike zooming in on a 72dpi graphic. Try it!
