I’m grading 5k r3d footage from a Red Epic for the first time, and my poor, solitary ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB is not happy with me right now.
Is there any version of reality where it makes more sense to get a Red Rocket card and not another GPU? And, assuming the GPU, do you folks know which one tends to play nicely with the 5770?
Thanks! I like to think that someone gets a nickel every time someone asks about the second graphics card, and that they literally get dollars per year.

The config guide provides the details of the GPUs you can use.
You need two rockets for epic 5k realtime.

for 5K footage you need a lot of processing power for debayering (means CPU power) or Red Rockets as Peter explained.
After that you will need a fast GPU – this is for grading the footage, look for the Nvidia ones (gtx 470, 570, 580)
