Ok so Im now getting a 550d/ Rebel T2i (thanks for the advice about that everyone!) and want a battery grip for obvious reasons, for shooting video. I was thinking about getting a third party one through the likes of Amazon but have heard a few horror stories about batteries destroying the camera etc and not being able to replace or fix because the warranty doesn’t cover the idiotic decision of the purchaser. Having said that, there are also horror stories about exploding iPods, melting TVs and macs which do the hula every time you switch them on- negative, over embellished press made by people because they can (eg how the iPhone 4 thing went a LITTLE over the top….) so I wanted to get the opinions of some people who ACTUALLY know what theyre talking about…
What do you think, fellow cow-goers?

    😀
