    Heya

Am creating a submission for the Interactive Emmys, and on the submission requirements page it lists –

“The Academy cannot accept DVDs authored or burned in Adobe Encore.”

As it happens I’ll be using DVD Studio Pro for the project, but I do use Encore on occasion, and am curious about why they mention this.

Is it a matter of Encore not being standards compliant? That’s all I can think of.

    Cheers!

How would they know unless you tell them? I don’t know of any technical reason for the comment.

Encore does not add an Audio_TS folder to the finished DVD. Some players will not accept or play DVD-Video discs without one, even though it is superfluous and not required by the DVD spec.

That could be the basis for their objection, although it is technically irrelevant.

Does this also hold true to CS3? How many dvd’s have you authored with Encore, that won’t play on certain dvds? I have always used DVD Architect 3 by Sony, with no problems. I have a wedding that I am doing today (11/23), and planned on using Encore DVD CS3 for the authoring. Is this a bad idea then? That’s why I am wondering if the CS3 version adds the TS audio file also.

    1. Yes.
    2. None. I have only heard reports, and even those are rare.
    3. That’s what I’d do.
