Encore problem

What are the characteristics of the source video assets you are using? Format, codec, frame size, frame rate, PAR, etc.

You gave some detailed information, which is good. Thanks.

I need to ask some more questions, if that’s OK.

• What program did you use to edit the video?
• You used AVI to export from that program, right? Do you know what codec you used (DV, DivX, Lagarith, HuffYUV, etc.)?
• The encoding settings you listed above – are they the settings that Encore used to transcode the AVI files?

Hi Jeff,

I used Adobe Prem Pro to edit the raw video, then I exported it into Encore using DV (PAL) as I live in the UK.
The setting those used by Encore.

As I have said I’m very new to this and although I’m quite technical video is a very new thing, but I’m willing to learn.

The information you’ve given indicates you did everything right and it should “just work”.

Do the AVI files from Premiere play normally (no yellow line) in Windows Media Player?

Can you post a screenshot showing what that yellow line looks like?

Hi Jeff,

Hope you can review the embedded photo.
One onther issue regarding making the DVD I did tr this again today, and it failed when it was part through at a point “building the navigation” what ever this is.

I have asked my friend, who gave me his old version of Pro and Encore which I’m using, he now uses a much new version of both. He told me the version of Prem Pro I have is about 3 yrs old and the same with Encore, but when he used them he had no problems. He can’t advise me what is wrong.

Yes the file from Prem is clean and works and displays fine.

I have uninstalled Encore and reloaded it again but still the same problem, were you able to see the screen shot I sent you?

Yes.

Try encoding from Premiere and then importing the encoded file into Encore. Any better?
