I am a commercial producer and supply my customers with a DVD.
I export an uncompressed QT (animation codec) from the Avid, and import it into Encore. I never have problems with smaller clips, say 15-30 secs long, but with the bigger films (45-60 secs), when I try to put it into a timeline the programme freezes. Nothing works, cant click anything, and I must go into the tasklist to shut it off. Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?
    Thanks in advance
    Simon

By the way, Win XP, and a HP xw8200 workstation, 2 gigs ram etc…

What version of Encore? Are you exporting from Avid as QT ref files or self-contained QT mov files?

If in version 1.5 you are trying to use QT ref files, they are not supported. Use self-contained QT mov files.

HI, thanks for the reply. Encore 1.5, and they are self contained QTs. I tried again with uncompressed AVIs, and it worked first time, so I’ll stick to them from now on.
