Encore – editable text over animated bkgnd
Hey Guys,
I’m setting up a template with a motion background…my goal is to have 2 or 3 editable text fields with a motion background. But when I place a text layer in my menu, it locks my background to a still image. I can do this in DVDSP, but I can’t seem to get it to work in Encore. Any ideas?

Have you tried rendering the motion menu by going to File>Render>Motion Menu?

It’s native MPEG2…doesn’t need rendered.

The text becomes part of the background, so yes, it does need to be rendered.
If you don’t want it to be rendered, it has to be a button highlight, and then you are limited to 2-bit quality.

My bad…I just figured it out!!!!
Just having MPEG2 assets doesn’t play back motion menus. You actually HAVE to go in and File->Render->Motion Menus
