Encore Dynamic Link cuts to black
I’m having an issue where Encore is cutting to black as it encodes. Here are the stats:
-I’m making a DVD.
-Imported a timeline via Dynamic Link from PremPro (V.6.0.2- CS6)
-Timeline length is 2:30:00 (2 hours and thirty minutes)
-All menu functions work correctly (chapters and navigation)
-Render settings: MPEG2-DVD, VBR 2 Pass, MRQ checked.
-Mac, OSX 10.8.4The problem is that as Encore builds the DVD at 2 hours and 13 minutes, the video cuts to black. The audio remains and the entire length of the file makes it to the final DVD. Again, all the navigation continues to work, its just that the video goes to black and audio remains. I have had successful builds where all the video makes it into the file…I have checked and rechecked the PP timeline. All the media is there, there are no chapter markers or anything that would indicate a reason for it cutting to black. I have used AME and did not have the problem. This just happens randomly with PP, EN and Dynamic Link.
Any thoughts on why it would do this?

don´t use dynamic linking!
workflow should be as followe:
1. export your film as selfcontained quicktime-file, apple pro res.
2. encoding the video to MPEG2 + AC3 using adobe media encoder
3. authoring your DVD with these assetscheers

Do you suggest downscaling on the output to prores or do you suggest letting encore do the downscaling?

for better result & control – do it yourself – encore is NO editing-software – its an authoring-suite.
