Encore discontinued
Posted by Craig C smith on June 19, 2013 at 10:09 pmI just purchased Adobe CC and just found out that Encore has been discontinued. Does anyone know of a good DVD authoring tool? Also does anyone know why Encore was discontinued?
Thanks in advance.

June 19, 2013 at 11:09 pmAdobe says it is because disk media is not the future:

This blog post shows how to use Encore CS6 with Premiere CC.

I think it is ultimately that Adobe does not want to invest the money/programming resources to fix problems. It is absurd to say that Encore is not being brought into CC because the future is somewhere else. Many professional videographers MUST deliver DVDs and Blurays.

June 26, 2013 at 1:31 pmI am in the market for another authoring program as well. While I think my operating system is sufficient enough for the time being, I will have to find something else eventually. Every video I make for a client requires a disc, this is just the reality. Regardless of future trends, the present is tied to discs that have menus.

July 14, 2013 at 6:50 pmThat is another reason to stay at CS6
I disagree with CC premise as a tool. It seems more like a profit center.
I don’t mind paying for updates, but not monthly.
And, I absolutely disagree with the loss of Encore…. Most of my jobs involve delivery via DVD or BR, or along with DVD or BR.
Therefore, my decision was made for me, by Adobe! Stay at CS6….

Dont they realize that Editors have to create showreels above all else?
what else is there that you would recomment for professional DVD Authoring besides DVD studio pro and Encore?
