My students are taking a mid-term exam and one of them just experienced Encore CS5 on Mac crashing or just quitting. When she reopens her saved project, that she has been frequently saving, none of her files come back. The entire program, all the windows, are just blank as if she clicked on new project. Each time she tries File/Open recent, same thing. I can not find any recovery or autosave files for Encore. However, I did find a folder on her drive that has on the inside a Projectmedia.acx, Projectprefs2.xml and a Projectworkspace.xml. Yet Encore won’t read any of those. Does anyone have any idea of how to acquire recovered or autosaved Encore files on a Mac so this students or others don’t have to start over from scratch after a crash?

I use Encore CS5 on Windows7x64. There is no autosave option in Encore. I use Encore from very first version Encore 1.0 and it never was autosave option for this software.

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit,
Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (overclocked to 4.5GHz),
CORSAIR CWCH50-1 High Performance CPU Cooler, ASUS P8P67 PRO,
    G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB,
    EVGA GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 2GB ,
    Matrox MXO2 with MAX,
COOLER MASTER HAF 932 Black ATX Full Tower Computer Case,

Thanks for responding. So if you get a crash and re-open with a blank project then you are just out of luck? Wow. I’m coming from apple DVD Studio Pro and even with a power failure you can reboot, restart DVD Studio Pro and most of your work will return.

Becouse there is no autosaving in Encore, I saving manualy all the time after every few changes I made, and if it will crash, I am lusing only lest few changes. I just get use to it. But Encore do not crash on me to often, it’s preaty stable software.
