    Hello CS3 Owners,

Any luck getting rid of persistent crashes???
I’ve got a persistent crash issue w/Encore CS3. My Dell (see specs below) Crashes everytime I attempt to write, an image or build a disc, or a master. I have all the latest Adobe updates. It even crashes when I attempt to boot while deleting the preferences file. (holding SHFT + Ctrl while booting)

I meet all the technical requirements…the only thing I am thinking is maybe it is a driver issue?? But I did NOT install any CD burning software as I have seen it causing problems with others… The only other software is CINEMA 4D v9.5. I’ve seen the Adobe document with some 17 steps that ends with formating your HD. ( I just did Format the HD…as this is a textbook clean install of CS3 w/ XP pro )

    Specs: Dell Precision Workstation 390
    Core 2 Duo, 6600 @2.4GHz, 2.00 GB RAM
XP Pro version 2002 SP 2
    Quicktime 7.2
    DVD Drive:PHILIPS DVD+-RW DVD880
    Quadro FX 3450
    Integrated sound

    Thanks for any input!!

I don’t think Shift+Ctrl deletes the prefs file; you have to do that manually.

I would also try updating the drivers for your on-board sound – especially if it is RealTek.

Thank for the input!! Wondering if there is a way to just re-load Encore… As I am thinking now it might be a driver.

    Annietron,

For me the, the latest updates for Encore took care of it. (So do check your adobe updater for updates, and reboot)
Also try alternate ways to ‘build’ your DVD, to try and isolate your problem–if it still persists. I have even seen the media cause problems.
