  Encore can’t import QT Reference file as asset

  Encore CS3 is refusing to import a QuickTime Reference file as an asset, giving this error message:

  “Could not import the file filename.mov. QuickTime and/or the appropriate codec do not appear to be installed.”

  I have previously imported these same .mov assets with no problem.

  I uninstalled & re-installed QuickTime and the entire CS3 Suite. No remedy.

  I have a stable XP system. The only major change is that I upgraded Avid XpressPro from 5.7 to 5.8. Could this possibly have broken the QT codecs?

  Any suggestions much appreciated.
