    Mystified –

When adding QT reference files (created in QuickTime 7 or QuickTime 6.5.2) from Avid Xpress Pro 5.2.4 (just straight DV PAL material) Encore’s transcoding engine seems to have gone weird – sitting there, doing nothing, the CPU is arount 50%.

Stranger still, when I quit Encore – it hasn’t quit. Not on screen, but it’s still running in the background if you check the task manager.

Of course if you go to transcode it just sits thre looking like it’s doing something when it’s doing nothing – hours later not a thing has been performed.

I’ve re-installed it, had the Mojo off, had the QT ref on internal and exteral drives…

Anyone else come across this? Any ideas? I’ve looked at processes and Encore looks like it’s doing lots of reading – like it’s playing through the QT ref when it shouldn’t be doing anything?

Has QuickTime 7 messed things up? Because it was working before and then stopped working (it was only then that I switched back to 6.5.2)

    Any help/ideas gratefully appreciated

System: Xenon 3.2Ghx, 3 Gb RAM, FX 1300 graphics, Mojo

Even though Encore 2.0 supports qt ref files, they must be saved as .mov files. Have you tried that?

    Hi Jeff –

    Thanks for the replay.

As far am I’m aware QT reference files are called .mov files so I’m not sure what you mean.
