    Hi,

I am completely disillusioned at the moment. I have earlier wondered, why encodings with the same settings came out with different quality and file size. Now I’ve found out, that putting an in- and out-point in my time line before encoding, makes the file size about 10 times bigger. Even though, the in and out are put around the whole content.

What is the right thing to do?

    Thanks,
    Anne.

    Hi Anne,
i’ve never heard of that before.
You mean when you export QT Movie from the time-line, with current settings, you get files with different data-rate?
Have you open the clips in QT to compare (Comm-i) the Info window?
Have a look to codec and data-rate.
And give a bit more of info about your sequence setting and kind of footage.
    Cheers,
    rafael
