Encoding from 1080 Apple ProRes for a local diffusion on computer?
Hi,
I need your advises..
I have a FinalCut Pro 7 exported file:
1920×1080 Apple Prores HQ + 16 bit Stéréo 48,000 KhzI have to send it to a foreign place where it will be displayed in loop during an exhibition. I will not be present.
It’s said that it will be played on 2 distinct places by 2 computers (not sure if all are Mac).
I supposed that they should be played by QuickTime or VLC on both platforms.
But I have to compress it as for 26 minutes it’s quite huge: 24Go1°
Could you please tell me if there would be a better solution:
I think to compress the original file in H264/AAC at high level quality and send the resulted file on a USB key or via a web server.
(I could rip a BluRay DVD but I have no BluRay recorder and I’m not sure it’s easy to do it on Mac even if I have Compressor 4 to encode)2°
I’ve heard here that Handbrake or Squeeze do better job with H264 than Compressor.
With Handbrake I am around these settings:
a 1920×1080 .mp4 file with x264 Constant Quality RF 13 and AAC (core audio) Stereo 320 @ 48
Is that OK ?Thanks for your help
