Help! I captured a bunch of 1920 x 1080 footage using a Canon Vixia HF20 in their 24P mode — which I now know is really captured and recorded into a 60i stream.

I’m trying to get it into Avid, but get a lot of interlacing combing when I try to convert it (using HandBrake).

Ideally, I’m looking to edit and stay in 24P, but can’t seem to find a way to get the AVCHD footage into Avid and still have it look good (it looks good when I play it in Windows Media Player).

Forcing a 24P frame rate in HandBrake doesn’t work, and converting it to 29.97 produces interlacing/combing issues.

Final output is to DVD. Any help you can give me on a sensible work flow for converting/editing/output would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!
