    Hi,

I have a macbook pro Retina with a GeForce card. It’s possible, I read, to activate CUDA and get GPU enabled/

I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what this means.

I don’t do any Raytraced 3D stuff so I was wondering, is it worth trying to use GPU?
Does it make a difference in a ‘regular’ workflow or with previewing?

Anybody who can shed a light on this issue would be much appreciated!
    Thank!
    Im on AE CC

The GPU is used for almost nothing in After Effects.

    Details are here:

    Hi!
Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.
This might be a stupid question but; wouldn’t it help with drawing quicker previews/ scrolling through a project?
Since it seems like AE now doesn’t use the GeForce card?

Hope this question makes sense and thanks again for your time!

    Hi all!
I have the same problem. I’ve got 750 ti to speed up the workflow in after effects, but doesn’t seem t help a bit. Comparing to cs5 with old ATI card and OpenGL mode new AE CC works very bad!!! Even simple effects load my i5 for almost 100% and the workflow becomes a disaster 🙁

Unlike premiere with its mercury playback. There GPU with cuda make real difference.

On Adobe’s forum they say cuda woun’t help ( https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1452329

Does anyone have any ideas how to speed up the workflow in AE?
