  • Enable GPU On 5k iMac With After Effects CS6?

Posted by Michael Lizak on December 27, 2014 at 10:55 pm

Hi, Just purchased the 5k iMac with the ATI Radeon R9 M295 graphics. I own a license of After Effects CS6. Is there a way you know of to get the GPU enabled? Tried editing the graphics card text file, but no luck. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, -Michael

Do you mean that you are trying to use the GPU acceleration for the ray-traced 3D renderer? That will never work with that GPU, since GPU acceleration for the ray-traced 3D renderer relies on CUDA.

Don’t worry about that, though, since that is an obsolete and seldom useful feature.

All of the other GPU features (which use OpenGL) will work fine with no action required on your part.
