Enable frame blending in Media Encoder?
Hi
I have a short 10 second sequence in a 6 minute film where I’ve slowed it down using time remapping in AE. In order to smooth out the frames I assume I need to enable frame blending when I render.My question is, should I enable frame blending for my entire film
or
render out ONLY the sequence that has been time remapped using frame blending?Does frame blending have a negative impact on quality of the render if there has been no time remapping?

Hi Jim,
With frame blending, you trade jitter with something that might resembles motion blur. The more you slow down, the worse the jitter get, so there is a point where you have to pick one or the other. It really depends on how much motion you have in the original, but you really only want blending where it’s absolutely needed. You can simply right click on the clips you need frame blending on, and check that option (cut if needed).
There are some more pleasing options, like one from Video copilot, or a paid option like Twixtor., although they both do much better with higher shutter rates.
