  • Empty space in file after trimming

I’m trying to do something that seems pretty simple and I’m following the instructions in the tutorial, but not getting the expected results.

I simply want to trim off the start and end of the clip, leaving only about 5 minutes out of the original 10+ minutes. What I end up with is a clip that starts with the desired section and then has 5+ minutes of black / silence.

The original file type is .mts and I’ve tried outputting .mpg and .wmv files and also tried starting with the .wmv file I’d created, trimming it again, and then re-outputting it as .wmv.

The only other processing that I’ve done is to adjust the brightness and contrast.

    Any ideas or hints?

    I’m using version 9.0c.

    Thanks in advance,

    George

are you rendering a region that included the cut time selection or are you rendering the clip? double click the event to set a region of the clip itself and render that region selection.
