The simplest way to do it is with a Particle>Deflector object scaled to the size of the pole. If you want to be more realistic you could use more deflectors and move/scale/rotate them so they form the approximate pole shape.

Of, if you have MoGraph, you could clone onto the particles and use a rigid body tag on the pole and cloner.

Or, if you have Thinking Particles, you could use TP Dynamics nodes or presets.

The deflector idea, still get overlapping.

Mograph I had not thought about works fairly decent. I am unfamiliar with your last suggestion of TPdynamics nodes or presets, are you referring to Xpresso? Would you be so kind as to explain? If you don’t have time to explain thoroughly, just point me in the right direction and I’ll figure it out from there!

Yes, Thinking Particles works through Xpresso. You should have TP presets in your Content Browser. There are a number of different emitter presets which can be used alongside the effector presets.
