EMERGENCY!!! Premiere damaged project!
I opened my premiere project, and accidentally bumped the usb connection which disconnected my hard drive. After I reconnected it and tried to open the project back up, it told me it wanted to reset the scratch folder to my documents. I said continue, and it told me the file couldn’t be opened because it was damaged. Same with the auto saves, and when I try to import it into another premiere project.
Please help me figure this out. I was just about to put the final audio mix into my film when this happened. I can’t afford for it to be damaged now.

Hi Alec,
At this point your only option may be an auto-save or a backup.
If it didn’t save the entire project, they may be little you can do with the current file.

Disk utility, or disk warrior if you’re on Mac.
Premiere Pro CC? Unfortunately, they use a compressed file format so if it’s damaged…. there is little to no success to recover it.

If you’re in Windows and you’ve ever exported a test or anything, you can type %temp% into the run box and there should be a ton of project files, one of which should be YourProjectName_1.prproj. The higher the number, the more recent the version. Hope this helps!

If you had auto-save running, you should have a folder of saved projects…most likely next to the original project in the original directory.
