  • Embedding Open Captions titles with YouTube SBV File

    Hey folks,

I’ve used YouTube’s transcribe / captioning feature to generate closed captioning for one of my videos. Now, my client wants embedded open captioning on the video and I’m trying to find out the best way to do this.

I can export the SBV file (with timecode and captions) out of YouTube, but I’m trying to figure out the best way to automatically embed the caption into the video.

Does Premiere offer some sort of solution? Maybe an After Effects script? Final Cut?

    Any input would be great!

    Thanks,
    Adam

Yep I can flip the YouTube script with MacCaption to subtitles with alpha channel. Drop me a line and I can help.

    Thanks Giovanni.

I found success converting the SBV caption file to SRT, layering it into a MOV with ‘Subler’, playing and turning on the subtitle track in Quicktime 7 and then exporting it directly out of Quicktime 7 (with Perian turned uninstalled)

Oddly Quicktime X and Perian were giving me a lot of problems.

    Cheers,
    Adam
