I am running FCS3 on an 8-core MacPro and I am trying to correct what looks like a zebra effect in some mini-DV footage that was shot at least five years ago. The shot was captured by attaching my mini-DV camera to the bumper of a truck and driving on the Interstate. It’s a great low angle shot but the white lines, particularly when the sun is very bright, break up into what I can best describe as a zebra effect like you see in the viewfinder of a camera before you focus the image and the zebras come together. I just have the standard plug-ins that came with FCP7 on my system. Will one of these correct the problem? If not, is there a plug-in that I can download that will do the job? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Not sure if you can do much about eliminating the lens flare. That image is pretty much burned into your image.

No. This is not lens flare. The white lines on the pavement zig-zag in a way that reminds me of what you see looking at zebra bars in a viewfinder. This could be caused by a combination of the vibration from the truck bouncing on the road and the video being slightly over exposed. But I could be wrong about that. And, I am looking for a correction to the effect (the zig-zag look).

How do I take a screen shot?

To take a screen shot, Command Shift 4. This will give you crosshairs that you can drag to the needed size. To upload to CreativeCow, click on the camera icon, browse and upload your photo. The name of the file will appear in the upper right of the window. Click on the file, then copy the text in Embed, then paste into the reply window.

Edited because the image I chose was a bad example.
