I’ve seen many Element 3D tutorials showing how to insert the Element 3d objects into footage; adding the element to appear inside a movie layer. But I haven’t seen one about attaching live footage to an Element 3d layer.

For instance, I imported a 3d object of a star cruiser. I animate the cruiser though the scene using the Element 3d animate position keyframing “xy position” and “z position.”

I have green screen footage of an actor the I want to put in the cockpit and stay attached to the star cruiser. Tried camera tracker on the Element layer and a null that I parent both to, but it doesn’t work. Do the “xy position” and “z position” map to any position properties of a standard layer?

I also downloaded a 3d model of an ancient city; with the object broken down into hallways, parapets, etc. I have green screen footage of two actors I want to add to the model walking down a hall and then walking up some stairs.

Can’t figure out how to do either.

Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks,
